Pattern Release: Highline Quilt

Pattern Release: Highline Quilt

The Highline quilt pattern has been a long time in the making. In fact, I first made a test block for it back in October of 2020, before I even started selling patterns! It's gone through some refinements since then to be where it is now. I've always loved making fat quarter friendly quilts for the pretty fat quarter bundles I tend to buy on a whim. It's so fun to get to the stage where you can mix and match your fabrics to find the perfect arrangement of blocks.

My inspiration for this pattern comes from the Highline Trail in Glacier National Park, which is my favorite hike I've ever been on. A photo from this trail has been the wallpaper on my phone since I went there in 2017!

The scenery the entire trail is absolutely spectacular, and there is a big chance you'll spot some wildlife. This pattern incorporates my favorite scenery: snowy mountains, gorgeous alpine lakes, and old growth forests. This type of environment is very common in the PNW as well, so I feel like this pattern is a great way to represent my love of nature everywhere.

Highline is an intermediate block based pattern. If you're up for piecing some smaller sized pieces it's definitely the quilt for you!

I'm honored to share the quilts my two testers made.

Sarah from @acorncornerquilts made a small throw using her stash and some beautiful Carolyn Friedlander prints.

Vanessa from @_vanessa.griffin_ made an adorable crib sized quilt with all holiday fabric, which I thought was such a fantastic idea!

As you can see, this quilt can take on many different looks depending on the vibe you're going for. Some people have told me they are planning to make one for their mountain lodge, and I think that's just the perfect use for it!
