Welcome to my first blog post, ever!
The whole reason for this? In one word? Pandemic. We’re still in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and I finally stopped living in the “just hang on for a couple weeks” stage. It’s now been 9 months since things really got serious in the Seattle area. I’m lucky to be in a region with competent leadership that takes it seriously, but it’s still so tough on our collective mental health. Out of all this I decided to truly dive in and learn something new. Something I’ve always wanted to learn but didn’t make the time… pattern writing and surface design!
I decided to take Elizabeth Chappell's Pattern Writing Course and got so much out of it. I decided to truly take the plunge and start my own creative business and release my first pattern. It feels so good to create in this way. Just writing about it more makes me happy! I’m so excited to get into this. Even if it only becomes a small way to make some extra spending money, it will be so fun.
