Bicycle FPP Block

Bicycle FPP Block

I'm so excited to participate in my first Quilt Block Mania, and am pleased to share my take on the transportation theme. I decided to create a bicycle block using FPP because I love the exercise and exhilaration that riding a bike offers.

The basket in the pattern is kept blank so you can add your own spin on it if you want, like adding some embroidered flowers or a quilted baguette! In my version, I embroidered a freestyle bouquet. I also embroidered the bar between the pedal and the gears, but it looks great as a floating pedal as well.

You can download this block for free by signing up for my list below.

Please use the hashtags #quiltblockmania, #JWDBicycleBlock, and #juliawachsdesigns when posting! You can also tag me at @juliawachs.designs. I'm a lover of making bold geometric designs using foundation paper piecing (and sometimes applique) and hope that you will follow along!

This block uses the foundation paper piecing technique. If you need a refresher on the basics, please reference my tutorial.
